With its long neck, its 50-centimetre tongue (19 inches), the size of its heart, and the way it communicates with its fellow creatures, the giraffe is an animal rich in symbolic meanings. It generally represents:

• Kindness and gentleness
• Inner calmness
• Seeing beyond appearances, opening of the “sixth sense” and psychic abilities
• The influence or appeal of exoticism
• A gentle awareness of one’s life’s challenges
• The union of the forces of earth and sky
• Harmony between carnal and emotional/spiritual aspirations
• An ability to “stand out”, to stand out in a crowd.
